“We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.”
This quote has stuck with me from the first time I came across it. Although C.S. Lewis wrote this line over eighty years ago in his work The Abolition of Man, it is still shockingly true today. We live in an age where honor is not just laughed at, but scorned and hated. Someone able to put the truth so bluntly, and yet so beautifully, will always have my respect.
I seem to remember the quote being a little longer than that :)
