“‘Logic!’ said the Professor half to himself. ‘Why don’t they teach logic at these schools?’”
An excellent question. Logic does not seem to be taught in schools at all.
C.S. Lewis had a lot to say about education, and this is something that he returns to frequently in his books. Unfortunately, the problems he saw with the education of his day have not at all gone away in ours over sixty years later. The public school system is run entirely on agendas and government ideologies.
C.S. Lewis saw the need for a change, for a revival not only in children’s education but in the discipleship of their minds as well. He said, “I am aiming at a sort of pre-baptism of the child’s imagination.” This is part of the beauty of the fantasy in The Chronicles of Narnia.
